NUBRI VALLEY TREK ITINERARY
Day 1:
Arrival in Kathmandu
Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Kathmandu. Use the day to rest and adjust to the time zone. If time permits, explore local attractions or relax in the city.
Day 2:
Kathmandu to Sotikhola
Travel from Kathmandu to Sotikhola by road, a journey that takes approximately 8-10 hours. Enjoy the scenic drive through lush landscapes and rural areas. Spend the night in Sotikhola, preparing for the trek ahead.
Day 3:
Sotikhola to Machhakhola
Begin your trek to Machhakhola, a 6-7 hour hike. The route takes you through beautiful terraced fields and along riverbanks. Stay overnight in Machhakhola, where you can rest and enjoy the serene environment.
Day 4:
Machhakhola to Jagat
Continue trekking to Jagat, which takes around 6-7 hours. Along the way, experience the local flora and fauna, and pass through small villages. Overnight in Jagat, soaking in the tranquil atmosphere.
Day 5:
Jagat to Philim
Trek from Jagat to Philim, approximately 5-6 hours. This segment of the trek offers stunning views of the surrounding hills and traditional village life. Spend the night in Philim, a quaint village with a welcoming ambiance.
Day 6:
Philim to Lho
Hike to Lho, taking around 5-6 hours. As you ascend, the dramatic mountain scenery begins to unfold. Overnight in Lho, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the mountains and experience local hospitality.
Day 7:
Lho to Sama Gaon
Travel to Sama Gaon, a trek of about 4-5 hours. This day is crucial for acclimatization as you get closer to the high altitudes. Sama Gaon offers stunning views of the Manaslu range. Stay overnight and take in the breathtaking surroundings.
Day 8:
Acclimatization Day in Sama Gaon
Spend a day acclimatizing in Sama Gaon. You can explore the village, visit the Pungyen Gompa, or hike to Manaslu Base Camp for an acclimatization hike. Overnight in Sama Gaon, allowing your body to adjust to the altitude.
Day 9:
Sama Gaon to Samdo
Trek to Samdo, which takes about 3-4 hours. Samdo is a peaceful village offering a glimpse into traditional life at high altitudes. Spend the night here, acclimating further before the high-altitude pass.
Day 10:
Samdo to Dharmasala
Continue your trek to Dharmasala, approximately 4-5 hours. This village is the last stop before crossing the Larkya La Pass. Prepare for the challenging pass crossing the next day. Overnight in Dharmasala.
Day 11:
Dharmasala to Larkya La Pass to Bimthang
Start early to cross the Larkya La Pass, which stands at 5,160 meters (16,929 feet). The trek to the pass and then to Bimthang takes about 8-10 hours. Enjoy the panoramic views from the pass and descend to Bimthang for the night.
Day 12:
Bimthang to Dharapani
Trek from Bimthang to Dharapani, a journey of approximately 6-7 hours. The route descends through varied landscapes, offering a different perspective of the region. Overnight in Dharapani.
Day 13:
Dharapani to Besi Sahar
Continue your trek to Besi Sahar, which takes around 6-7 hours. This marks the end of your trekking journey. Prepare for the drive back to Kathmandu. Overnight in Besi Sahar.
Day 14:
Besi Sahar to Kathmandu
Drive back to Kathmandu, a trip that takes 6-8 hours. Spend your last day in Kathmandu, enjoying some relaxation or sightseeing. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.
Day 15:
Departure from Kathmandu
Transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your departure flight. Reflect on your adventure and prepare for your journey home.
