The Annapurna Circuit Trek is one of Nepal's most celebrated Himalayan journeys, taking trekkers through an extraordinary variety of landscapes, cultures and elevations around the Annapurna massif.
The trail travels from subtropical valleys and terraced hillsides toward the high alpine landscapes of Manang, crossing the legendary Thorong La Pass at 5,416 metres before descending toward the sacred pilgrimage site of Muktinath and the Kali Gandaki region.
The journey begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu toward Dharapani before the trail enters the spectacular mountain landscapes of the Annapurna region.
As the trail climbs through Chame, Upper Pisang and Manang, the scenery gradually changes from lush forests and terraced hillsides to dramatic alpine terrain. Manang provides an important acclimatization opportunity before continuing toward Yak Kharka and Thorong Phedi.
One of the defining moments of the journey is the crossing of Thorong La Pass at 5,416 metres. From the pass, the trail descends toward Muktinath before continuing through the Mustang and Kali Gandaki landscapes toward Tatopani and Pokhara.

Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel. Meet your trekking team and take time to rest and prepare for the Annapurna Circuit adventure.
Travel west from Kathmandu through the scenic Trishuli and Marsyangdi river valleys toward the Annapurna region. Continue through mountain settlements to Dharapani, the traditional gateway to the higher Annapurna Circuit.
Begin trekking along the Marsyangdi Valley, passing through pine forests, waterfalls and dramatic mountain scenery. Continue through Bagarchhap and Danaque before reaching Chame, headquarters of Manang District.
Walk through increasingly alpine landscapes as the valley opens toward the Annapurna massif. The trail passes through pine forests and dramatic rock formations before arriving at the village of Pisang.
Continue toward the upper Marsyangdi Valley, choosing the scenic upper route through Ghyaru and Ngawal when conditions permit. Enjoy spectacular views of Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Gangapurna and the surrounding peaks before reaching Manang.
Spend the day acclimatizing around Manang. Explore the village and surrounding trails, visit local monasteries and enjoy views of the high Himalayan peaks while allowing your body to adjust to the increasing altitude.
Leave Manang and gradually enter the high alpine landscape. The trail climbs steadily through sparse vegetation and yak pasture toward Yak Kharka, providing increasingly impressive views of the surrounding mountains.
Continue higher through the increasingly rugged terrain toward Thorong Phedi, the base for crossing Thorong La. The short trekking day allows time for rest and preparation for the challenging high-pass crossing ahead.
Start early for the spectacular crossing of Thorong La Pass, the highest point of the Annapurna Circuit at 5,416 metres. Descend dramatically into the Mustang landscape and continue toward the sacred pilgrimage village of Muktinath.
Explore the sacred surroundings of Muktinath before continuing down the Kali Gandaki Valley. Pass through the dramatic landscapes of Mustang and traditional Thakali settlements before reaching the beautiful village of Marpha.
Descend through the Kali Gandaki Valley, one of the world's deepest mountain valleys. The landscape changes dramatically as the route moves from the dry Mustang region toward lush subtropical forests and the hot springs of Tatopani.
Continue south toward Pokhara through lush valleys and mountain foothills. Arrive in Pokhara, the lakeside gateway to the Annapurna region, and enjoy time to relax after completing the main circuit.
Enjoy a relaxed day in Pokhara. Explore the lakeside area and surrounding attractions or simply rest while enjoying views toward the Annapurna range. This day provides a comfortable transition from the mountains back toward Kathmandu.
Fly from Pokhara back to Kathmandu. Transfer to your hotel and enjoy free time in the city after completing the Annapurna Circuit journey.
Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy some final time in Kathmandu for sightseeing or shopping before your transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward journey.
