Gokyo Lake Trek

The Gokyo Lake Trek is one of the most spectacular journeys in Nepal's Everest region, taking trekkers through the beautiful Gokyo Valley and a series of remarkable glacial lakes surrounded by some of the highest mountains in the world.

The journey follows the classic trail through Lukla, Phakding and Namche Bazaar before heading toward Dole, Machermo and the turquoise Gokyo Lakes. The trek also offers the opportunity to climb Gokyo Ri at 5,357 metres for extraordinary panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu and the surrounding Himalayan peaks.

TREK EXPERIENCE

Glacial lakes, high valleys & Himalayan giants

The journey begins with a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla before following the Dudh Koshi Valley toward Phakding and the legendary Sherpa town of Namche Bazaar.

After an important acclimatization day in Namche, the trail continues toward Dole and Machermo through beautiful rhododendron forests and increasingly dramatic alpine landscapes. As the altitude rises, the surrounding peaks become more impressive and the landscape gradually transforms into a high Himalayan environment.

The highlight of the journey is reaching Gokyo and exploring its remarkable glacial lakes. An early morning ascent of Gokyo Ri provides breathtaking views toward Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu and the surrounding Himalayan panorama before descending through Dole and Namche toward Lukla.

Fly to Lukla & Trek to Phakding
