Makalu-Barun National Park protects one of Nepal's most remarkable wilderness areas. The landscape ranges from lush subtropical forests to high alpine meadows and dramatic mountain terrain, providing habitat for rare wildlife including the red panda, snow leopard and Himalayan black bear.
