MANASLU CIRCUIT TREK ITINERARY

Day 01:

Arrive in Kathmandu

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you’ll be transferred to your hotel where you can unwind and prepare for your upcoming trek. This initial day allows you to rest from your journey and begin acclimating to the altitude. The transfer from the airport to your hotel takes about 25 minutes, offering a brief glimpse of the vibrant city.

Day 02:

Drive to Machha Khola

The adventure begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Machha Khola, which spans approximately 9 to 10 hours. This drive takes you through diverse landscapes, including terraced fields, small villages, and winding mountain roads. The journey sets the stage for the trekking experience ahead, immersing you in Nepal’s picturesque countryside.

Day 03:

Trek to Jagat

Starting your trek from Machha Khola, you will head towards Jagat, a journey that takes around 7 to 8 hours. The trail meanders through lush forests and along the banks of the Budhi Gandaki River. As you walk, you'll pass through traditional villages and encounter local life, offering a glimpse into the rural lifestyle of the region.

Day 04:

Trek to Deng

Today’s trek from Jagat to Deng takes approximately 7 hours and ascends gradually through beautiful landscapes. The path continues along the river and through forests, providing stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The village of Dyang, nestled in this serene environment, offers a peaceful setting for your overnight stay.

Day 05:

Trek to Namrung

The trek from Deng to Namrung, taking about 7 to 8 hours, involves a steady climb through picturesque valleys and forests. As you gain altitude, the scenery becomes increasingly dramatic, with expansive views of the Manaslu range. Namrung, a traditional village, provides a fascinating glimpse into the local culture and lifestyle.

Day 06:

Trek to Lho

Our trek to Lho takes us through though sections of oak, fir and rhododendron forests as we climb higher up the valley to the altitude of 3280 metres. We will really start to feel effects of the thin alpine air so we will take our time and enjoy the views as we slowly climb higher into the mountains. 4 hours trekking.

Day 07:

Lho to Sama Gaunn

Today we will continue climbing up the valley and before long we will come to the high alpine pastures dotted with Yaks grazing across the mountainside.  We will come to a mountain stream that falls from from between the peaks above us and cross into the wide basin that is home to the Nubri people and the village of Sama Gaun. From our lodge we will have an impressive view directly up at Mount Manaslu that towers over the valley. 4 hours trekking.

Day 08:

Acclimatization Day - Hike to Manaslu Base Camp

Today is dedicated to acclimatization with a hike to Manaslu Base Camp. This challenging 5 to 6-hour hike helps your body adjust to the higher altitude. The base camp provides stunning views of the towering Manaslu peak and the surrounding glacial terrain, enhancing your trekking experience with breathtaking vistas.

Day 09:

Trek to Samdo

Trek from Samagaon to Samdo, a journey of about 5 to 6 hours. The trail offers magnificent views of the surrounding peaks and introduces you to the high-altitude environment. Samdo, a small village situated at a higher elevation, prepares you for the forthcoming challenges of crossing Larkya La Pass.

Day 10:

Trek to Dharmasala / Larkya La Phedi

Today’s trek from Samdo to Dharmasala, or Larkya La Phedi, takes around 4 to 5 hours. This stop serves as the base for the upcoming Larkya La Pass crossing. The area offers stunning high-altitude landscapes and prepares you for the challenging ascent to the pass.

Day 11:

Cross Larkya La (5,106 m) and Descend to Bhimthang

Crossing Larkya La Pass, which reaches an altitude of 5,106 meters, is the highlight of today’s 8-hour trek. The pass offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and glaciers. After crossing, you will descend to Bhimthang, where you can relax and take in the serene mountain environment.

Day 12:

Trek to Tilje

From Bhimthang, trek to Tilje in approximately 4 to 5 hours. The trail descends through diverse landscapes, including lush forests and terraced fields. Tilje, a quaint village, provides a final opportunity to experience traditional rural life before concluding the trek.

Day 13:

Drive Back to Kathmandu via Besisahar

Drive from Tilje to Kathmandu via Besisahar, which takes around 9 hours. The return journey offers a final chance to enjoy Nepal’s scenic beauty and reflects on the remarkable trekking experience. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you can rest and prepare for your departure.

Day 14:

Departure

Transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your international departure. This marks the end of your Manaslu Circuit Trek, filled with memorable experiences and stunning vistas of Nepal’s high Himalayas.
