HELAMBU TREK ITINERARY

Day 1:

Arrival in Kathmandu

Arrive at Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to your hotel. Use the day to unwind from your journey or explore the bustling city streets and markets.

Day 2:

Kathmandu Exploration and Trek Briefing

Spend the day exploring Kathmandu’s cultural highlights, including the Swayambhunath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, and Boudhanath Stupa. In the afternoon, attend a briefing to prepare for your trek and check your gear.

Day 3:

Drive to Sundarijal and Trek to Chisapani

Drive to Sundarijal (about 1.5 hours), then start your trek to Chisapani. This 4-5 hour hike takes you through verdant forests and offers initial glimpses of the Himalayas. Spend the night at a cozy tea house in Chisapani.

Day 4:

Trek from Chisapani to Gul Bhanjyang

Set out on a 5-6 hour trek to Gul Bhanjyang, passing through charming villages and lush landscapes. Gul Bhanjyang is a serene village offering traditional accommodations and local hospitality.

Day 5:

Trek from Gul Bhanjyang to Melamchi Gaon

Trek for 5-6 hours to reach Melamchi Gaon, a large Hyolmo village. Experience the unique Hyolmo culture and lifestyle, visit local monasteries, and enjoy a comfortable stay in a local tea house.

Day 6:

Explore Melamchi Gaon

Dedicate a full day to exploring Melamchi Gaon. Engage with the local community, visit traditional homes, and learn about Hyolmo customs. Enjoy the village's serene atmosphere and cultural richness.

Day 7:

Trek from Melamchi Gaon to Tarke Ghyang

Embark on a 5-6 hour trek to Tarke Ghyang. The trail offers panoramic mountain views and passes through picturesque villages. Tarke Ghyang, known for its large monastery and scenic beauty, provides a charming tea house stay.

Day 8:

Trek from Tarke Ghyang to Sermathang

Continue your trek for 4-5 hours to reach Sermathang. This village offers stunning mountain vistas and opportunities to explore local culture and traditions. Spend the night in a welcoming tea house.

Day 9:

Trek from Sermathang to Melamchi Pul Bazaar, Drive to Kathmandu

Trek for 3-4 hours to Melamchi Pul Bazaar, then take a scenic drive back to Kathmandu (2-3 hours). Return to your Kathmandu hotel to relax and enjoy a celebratory dinner.

Day 10:

Departure from Kathmandu

Enjoy your last morning in Kathmandu with some free time for last-minute shopping or sightseeing. Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
