ITINERARY & MAP

ANNAPURNA BASECAMP TREK ITINERARY

Day 1:

Arrival in Kathmandu

Arrive in Kathmandu, the bustling capital of Nepal. After transferring to your hotel, take the day to rest and acclimate to the city’s altitude. Kathmandu offers a vibrant mix of cultural experiences, so you might want to explore some local attractions or simply prepare for the trek.

Day 2:

Kathmandu to Pokhara

Travel to Pokhara, a scenic city renowned for its lakes and mountain views. You can choose between a 6-hour drive through picturesque landscapes or a quick 30-minute flight. Once in Pokhara, enjoy the serene environment and prepare for the trek starting the next day.

Day 3:

Pokhara to Ulleri to Ghorepani

Drive to Ulleri, which takes about 1.5 hours, and then begin your trek to Ghorepani. The trek is approximately 4-5 hours long, leading you through lush forests and traditional villages. Arrive in Ghorepani and stay overnight in a local teahouse, where you’ll have stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

Day 4:

Ghorepani to Poon Hill to Tadapani

Early in the morning, hike up to Poon Hill (3,210 meters) to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. After enjoying the views, trek from Ghorepani to Tadapani, a 5-6 hour journey through diverse landscapes. Spend the night in Tadapani, where you can enjoy beautiful vistas of the Himalayas.

Day 5:

Tadapani to Chhomrong

Embark on a trek from Tadapani to Chhomrong, a trail that takes about 4-5 hours. This route descends through rhododendron forests and terraced fields before reaching the village of Chhomrong. Stay overnight in a teahouse, and take in the charming views of the Annapurna range.

Day 6:

Chhomrong to Dovan

Continue your trek from Chhomrong to Dovan, which takes roughly 4-5 hours. The trail descends and then climbs through bamboo and oak forests, following the Modi Khola river. Overnight at a teahouse in Dovan, where you can rest and prepare for the higher altitudes ahead.

Day 7:

Dovan to Annapurna Base Camp

Trek from Dovan to Annapurna Base Camp (4,131 meters), a journey of about 4-5 hours. As you ascend, the scenery becomes more dramatic with spectacular views of the surrounding peaks. Arrive at the base camp and stay overnight, soaking in the stunning vistas of the Annapurna Massif.

Day 8:

Annapurna Base Camp to Sinuwa

Begin your return journey from Annapurna Base Camp to Sinuwa, which takes approximately 5-6 hours. The descent retraces your steps through lush forests and terraced fields. Stay overnight in Sinuwa, where you can reflect on your trekking experience.

Day 9:

Sinuwa to Jhinu Dada

Trek from Sinuwa to Jhinu Dada, a journey of about 4-5 hours. Jhinu Dada is known for its natural hot springs, offering a perfect opportunity to relax and rejuvenate after days of trekking. Enjoy a soothing dip in the hot springs and spend the night in a local teahouse.

Day 10:

Jhinu Dada to New Bridge and Drive to Pokhara

Trek from Jhinu Dada to New Bridge (approximately 2 hours), then drive back to Pokhara. The drive takes around 2 hours and provides a chance to unwind and enjoy the scenic return journey. Spend the night in Pokhara, enjoying the city’s lakeside charm.

Day 11:

Pokhara to Kathmandu

Travel back to Kathmandu either by a 6-hour drive or a 30-minute flight. Once back in Kathmandu, you’ll have time to explore the city, do some last-minute shopping, or relax before your departure. Stay overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 12:

Departure from Kathmandu

Prepare for your departure and transfer to the airport for your flight home. If time allows, enjoy some final sightseeing or shopping in Kathmandu before you head to the airport.
