Grade 5 • Hard & technical
Cross the entire Nepal Himalaya from Kanchenjunga to Hilsa on one of the world's greatest mountain journeys, led by a Trek & Beyond guide who completed the full High Route in both 2018 and 2022.
The Great Himalaya Trail
The Great Himalaya Trail Nepal High Route is a complete east-to-west traverse of the country, linking more than 1,700 kilometres of remote valleys, mountain communities, glaciers and high Himalayan passes.
This is an expedition-scale journey rather than an ordinary trek. Trek & Beyond brings firsthand leadership from two complete High Route crossings—in 2018 and 2022—to every decision involving acclimatization, weather, logistics, resupply, technical terrain and team safety.

The full Nepal Himalaya, guided by experience
The journey begins in eastern Nepal with the approach to Kanchenjunga. From its great glacial valleys, the route travels west through Makalu-Barun and crosses the technical high passes connecting the Makalu and Everest regions.
Beyond the Khumbu, the traverse continues through Rolwaling, Langtang, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu and Annapurna. Teahouse sections are combined with remote camps, changing crews, planned resupply and carefully placed contingency days.
The western stages move through Mustang, Dolpo, Mugu, Rara and Humla before reaching Hilsa near the Tibetan border. Snow, rivers, landslides, permits and transport can reshape the schedule, which is why experienced field leadership is central to the Trek & Beyond approach.
